lane cove - pavilion house
This building sits on a unique site. Extremely long, narrow, with the northern sun to the narrow boundary and on a busy road. The solution was to create a pavilion style house. This allows the living spaces to be separated from the road so they are nice and quiet. Internal courtyards allow each bedroom and living space to have its own vista and retreat, whilst allowing sunlight to penetrate deeply into each room.
This house exemplifies the idea of inside-outside connection.
